Research fields/Keywords:polymer properties, structure analysis

Associate Professor Shotaro NISHITSUJIAssociate Professor Shotaro NISHITSUJI

We produce novel high performance materials by blending 2 or more polymers (polymer alloys).

How do we proceed with our research?

1. Materials Design

Think about what materials are required by society.

2. Material Fabrication

In practice, we use an extruder for blending and injection molding for molding.

3. Mechanical Testing

The molded materials are evaluated by elongation and bending.

4. Structure analysis

We analyze why sometimes excellent materials but sometimes only inferior materials are created. We make, evaluate and analyze.

Specifically, what research topics are being investigated?

  • Density fluctuations and fracture of polycarbonate
  • Development of high performance nylon 6/polyrotaxane alloy
  • Structural transformation of fillers in rubber and their mechanics
