When the polymeric materials are formed into a desired shape, it is needed to impart the flowability to the polymer. The polymeric liquids possesses the elasticity even in the liquid state unlike that of Newtonian liquids such as water. Furthermore the behavior depends on the deformation rate, temperature and deformation mode. In our laboratory, we study polymer liquid rheology from the viewpoint of structure (micro-, meso-, and macroscopically), and the development of various techniques for soft matter processing such as multi-layered film casting, foaming, electrospinning.

Laboratory members – Ph.D, Masters, and Bachelors.
